Designing your own interior textile? It is possible!

On 22 December 2016

The developments in the field of digital printing on textile do not stand still. Nowadays it is possible to put unique prints in an infinite number of colour compositions on small surfaces. Before there was a maximum of 12 to 16 colours, the making of templates, huge development costs and a minimum of 1000m, now you can print from 6lm. Literally you ask and we deliver!

Printing textile is a digital proces

The average printing speed has been increased over the last years from 10m to 150m per hour! This has made digitally printed fabric very affordable. A textile printer works the same way as the inkjet printer you have at home. The sizes for textile are 1,40m and 1,50m wide. The printer head is about 10 centimetres. Just like a normal printer, but bigger.

Making a design, how does that work?

The textile design maker must report to people above and below him or herself. I have been working from my fifteenth in textile, so I know this is not an easy job! But don't be afraid. We have all experience and knowledge available. That's why we advise relations to come to us with their ideas. We give appropriate advice and will if needed further develop the design. Together it's done in a heartbeat!

why polyesters and artificial fibres?

Polyester curtain is stable to wash, wear resistant and the 'touch and feel' is surprisingly pleasant. This is because we chose for transfer printing. The inks are pressed on transfer paper and calendared on the fabric. When calendaring (a machine with a big drum around 200 degrees) the water-based made inks gas deep into the fibre of the fabric. When cooling down the fibre closes with the colours inside. This way the prints are anchored deep into the fabric and you can enjoy the beautiful textile with your own unique print for a long time.

Prints van Oranje helps to overcome the gap between custom-made ideas and realising them. If you have questions about textile, wall covering and floor covering you can always contact us!
